Awaiting the Christ Child

I first saw these mannekins at choir rehearsal on Wednesday evening when the church was pleasantly warm. When we arrived for rehearsal at 4 pm today, the church was freezing. The heating wasn't switched on until 4.30pm. I got rather cold.

These two look as if they got cold too. Mary looks quite grey and ill. They're waiting for Baby Jesus but he won't arrive until midnight on Christmas Eve.

We had a good crowd for the concert. The deputy mayor came as well and said how much she enjoyed it, and could she borrow my tiara which I was wearing as a gesture to bling. I was relieved that all went without an obvious hitch, the voices sounded well blended and we were, at last, warmish.
