Our house in the snow

We woke up to 35 cm (nearly 14 inches) of snow. Neighbour Bill measured it. I was going to get a measuring tape but was too busy shovelling! We spent about 3 and a half hours outside, shovelling (me) and clearing the driveway and paths with the snow blower (G). Thank goodness we have that machine! We used to shovel the entire driveway but those days are gone. Not that we couldn't if we had to, mind!  It's cold, around minus 4, warmer than the minus 9 it was this morning, but no wind. The snow was drier than usual, a bonus result from the temperature. Might take a few days for it to melt if it stays this cold. Much colder in the interior of the province!  Chaos in the lower mainland, ferry and plane cancellations, and people have been advised to stay off the roads. I'm sure lots of people will be disappointed with this disruption to holiday travel plans.
Extras:
G clearing the driveway (spot the neighbour's car sheltering under the trees. G cleared their driveway too)
Here we go again - another shot of the fig tree in snow
Snow tire
