Squirrel Blip Friday ...

... blustery day.

These pictures paint a good picture of what our day was like ... cold and blustery with an odd mix of precipitation.  The temps went from the mid 40's in the morning hours to dropping to a low of 4° F by evening. You can see the snow blowing almost sideways here.  Tomorrow (Christmas Eve) is supposed to be the coldest day of the year so far ... only getting into the teens.

You would think because of the cold, windy weather that we wouldn't have gone out today ... but R wanted to run the car just to make sure that it would start for us later.  So after supper we ran to the grocery store and stopped at a Christmas light display that I had read about in the newspaper.   The car ran great for us but my door almost froze shut whilst we were in the store.  I really had to pull on the door to open it.

We did lose power several times during the day ... twice when I was fixing supper and then again later on shortly before 8:00 pm.  The first two power outages were very short but the last outage was just over an hour.  With this being the coldest night so far we were a bit worried when the power didn't come on right away.  After about an hour Richard was getting ready to set up the generator when the power came back on ... and blessedly stayed on.

Crazy, cold day!
