Cute and comic

Oh dear, why do I have this blackbird in my journal - because he made me laugh, standing on one leg, staring at me out of one eye and flicking his wings.  I don't know enough about bird language to know what he was saying, but he looked cute and comic, so there we are.

Inevitably I got this shot of him in the reserve, yesterday afternoon after the visitors had gone, down by the pond where a LOT of hacking back of shrubbery has recently been done.  (I say a lot, in truth probably too much -  many small birds will have lost their shelter at just the wrong time of year).
