Spoilt for choice.

Clicky's "Birthday bash" included a trip out ---> Lakes Aquarium @ Windermere & a Pub meal.

I could have titled it "Unexpected sights."
Before we even got inside we saw this Gull, almost damnear close enough to read the ring by eye, but we "shot it" in case.  I can see enough of the metal ring to guess it may have been ringed on Lundy; they may have included its weight but I couldn't make it out.

Another unexpected - we thought was a Sturgeon - BUT - apparently not:-
Courtesy of a newly discovered site it was, apparently a "Sterlet".  Close examination - contraindicated - you can see where I removed a, roughly 2"/60mm  supporting brace twixt panes of glass/polycarbonate?

Next - A master of disguise.  I'm quite sure that, in the wild it'd have been harder to spot, having even blurred its outline by getting pebbled over parts of itself.

"And, finally Cyril"©  Who'd ever have expected Leaf-cutter Ants in san Aquarium?  No two were closer than 2-3 feet/ a mtr.  I put two together.
I didn't have sense to guesstimate the comparative size of the insects another - BUT - the, placed,. front one was carrying a full leaf, nothing big enough to require cutting, but the macho-man(?) was, on closer inspection, carrying a complete "Branch".

NO guarantee I'll not be back, sometime "B4 I pop me clogs."    ( ; ¬) )

Clicky & Jerra also got a look at otter, by dint of going back upstairs at feeding time.

Seen, but not displayed here blue frogs, a couple of Toads, Axolotls, a Python and other assorted wee Beasties.
