Renovation

Ok, I know this looks pretty ordinary but it has been a work in progress for about 15 years. When we moved here there was a row of mondo grass along the edge and a mop top robinia tree in the centre. Around the base were white pebbles.

First the trees were cut out but I couldn’t grow anything in the compacted, weedy, pebbly concrete (aka soil). It was also infested with onion weed which I couldn’t get rid of. Now after clearing buckets of soil and pebbles I have put in home made compost and a perennial ( Calibrachoa) in the centre. Around the edge there are about 26 tiny mondo grass babies.

I had a long list of jobs today and ticked off most of them. Maddy is here tonight and we are about to play cards (cheat).
