Première Soirée

Working day, spent with Jemma at Sol...quite an easy day to be honest! We did a montage of one home, and then spent the rest of the day in the sun counting patio furniture. This did however leave both of us with some rather interesting tan lines (mainly shorts and top tan lines...hopefully I might be able to sort them out at some point!). Not going to lie, a rather easy day for once - probably in preparation for the celebrations of the birthdays of Jim, Sami and Liam.

This of course meant pre-drinks at Abi, Geo and Elle's...and this rather gorgeous looking lady is Jemma. I really think she looks like Audrey Hepburn in this photograph! So after a before we all headed into Les Sables, walking. This turned into one of the most annoying walks I have ever done I think, as the person who knew the way decided to walk at the back of the group with the really drunk people, and disappearing at the moments when we really needed him to tell us what way to go. So by the time we arrived at the club tempers were slightly frayed. However, we soon perked up as good music was playing and everyone suddenly found themselves in the mood for dancing! After being bought a drink by an Orlando Bloom lookalike I was more than happy, and had a very nice night finally being able to speak some French not on the phone with people. I didn't really realise how much I really missed it until I had the opportunity to speak it again. It is strange when a language just suddenly feels right to speak.

The night ended very late, as we all left just before the club closed and I ordered the taxis to get us home. Unfortunately as we live in La Chaume, just outside of Les Sables, they only send two four seater taxis for thirteen people, and get one of them to do an aller-retour, aller-retour. However, the more mathematically minded of you will realise that three times four is twelve, not thirteen. This meant that one of us would be left behind, so Liam and I decided that we would walk back to the site instead. And yes, it did take us around an hour but it was a very nice chatty walk...and we managed to save the twenty-four euro taxi fare, so not all bad. Definitely a lot quicker than the walk there too...
