Flood

I lived in this area for 28 years - the longest I've lived anywhere - and I loved it: the people, the proximity to town, the walks, the river, the lake, the streams, the watermeadows... It was formative - the children learnt to fill sandbags, look out for water levels and change their route to school. And Firstborn is now a water engineer. But when I had to find somewhere new to live, this was why I chose higher ground.
