A cheerful visitor...

...on a chilly, grey day. I bought some bird seed today, along with a bird feeder I filled with peanut chips and sunflower seeds for the songbirds and a new feeder for the hummers. Made of glass and really pretty, it's filled with sugar water and hanging right outside our dining room window. Now all we need are the hummingbirds. I haven't seen any in the neighborhood yet, and even the orioles have gone missing. They're probably hunkered down where there's more sun and less wind. The prediction is for warmer temps and some sunshine for the end of the week. Here's hoping the orioles and hummers show up to enjoy their new cafeteria. Meanwhile, this bright-colored goldfinch makes a good substitute.
