Guillemot Ridge

We took advantage of mum's good post-op health and our proximity to Anglesey to visit the RSPB site at South Stacks. I'd made the decision to reduce my lens pack for the trip to the walkabout (24-105f4) and the tele (100-400) because I hadn't predicted we would do much visiting.

I would have liked the 600mm, but in the end there were so many guillemots perched on the ledges I needed a wider range to fit any of them in. This is just one section of one ridge. Apparently we were fortunate - at this time of year they fly in for a bit of sun basking and then fly out again.

Later in the spring these ledges are home to puffins... I might have to check up on mum again in late March... ;-)
