Willow

There’s been many blips of winter trees and silhouettes on my journal over the past few days. Here’s another one, this time in the Vinters Valley Nature Reserve, a little haven of nature betwixt busy roads, industrial estates, houses and the crematorium.

Another wonderful winter’s day, cold, frosty with fine sunshine ending with a rich ruby red sunset which was best just to admire while I was out running.

Roofers turned up next door this morning to replace some flashing. I’d already talked to our neighbours to see if the workmen would have a look at a water ingress around one of our windows.

They did, for a consideration, replacing our flashing which was cracked and split and applying mastic to the area around the window frame. Hopefully, that’ll solve a problem we’ve known about for 20 years!

Chris flew back to California this morning via Dallas, enjoying a free upgrade to business class for that long leg. Only 3 more sleeps til we set off to follow him. Staying Wednesday night at Heathrow to make it a relaxing Thursday morning without the stress of getting up early to avoid M25 holdups. And it’s a long enough day anyway, seeing in LA at 23.30pm UK time then getting to the hotel….
