Quod oculus meus videt

WashBrook Pool Sunrise

As I looked out this morning I could see this cloud front stretching across the sky from north to south.  I knew it might deliver on a colourful sunrise, but even this came as a surprise.  I've spent ages trying to process this picture as the raw image looked as though it had been dipped in red paint, so strong was the colour cast created by the reflected light.  Of course, our brain tends to interpret the colours we see and tells me that the snow in the foreground is white, reeds yellow, etc.  I hope I've done justice to the scene.

As for the rest of the day we had a walk in the morning before visiting family for Sunday roast and a catch up.
