Another cold one, this morning after last night's drop in temperature.   We're due -6C again tonight, so the lakes and marshes are going to remain solidly iced for a few more days yet.  

I did go down to the levels today, in the hope of catching a bittern (or similar) on the ice.  But the reserves were very quiet and the common response from those few foolish people that I did meet was along the lines that they hadn't seen anything much of interest either.   

That said, I did manage to get this shot of a Reed Bunting busy about the business of finding something to eat.  I rather like the muted colour scheme and the falling seeds.
