Sudden death

I'd just settled down for an afternoon coffee and biscuits when things began to flicker and then it went dark. Oh dear, I thought, it's a power cut. But the street lights were still on, so maybe it was a fuse. No, because other lights were fine. So I have a dead bulb. It's an energy saver which I leave on almost all the time, even when I'm not in the house. It's in a table lamp I got as part of the do-over in the living room. That was almost four years ago, so that's about 35,000 hours. Not too bad, I guess. I just hope this type of bulb is still available so I can replace it.
