Wound up in Wexford

Waterford

We had a great visit to the house we are buying.  We had a good look around, confirmed that at least some of the issues we had raised had been, or were about to be, addressed.  We met the vendor and her daughter, and their lovely dog.  Having originally suggested the end of February for completion, as things seemed now to be all sorted, we suggested that maybe we could go for an earlier completion, but this didn't seem possible.  The vendor is on her own (husband died last year) with a Down syndrome daughter, and there is a limit to how quickly she is able to pack up and vacate!

We then went to New Ross, where we were able to charge the car whilst having lunch.  And then on to Waterford.

Our solicitor assured us that she had no concerns about the paperwork, so we signed the contract.  She is going to propose 23rd Feb for completion - we'll see it that is acceptable to the vendor.

After our meeting I walked back to the river frontage, and noticed Reginald's tower framed by the memorials to two ships torpedoed in December 1917 by a German U boat, and lost with all crew (largely from Waterford or nearby villages) and passengers.

Finally, a long drive home in damp weather.  But with hope for removal within a month!
