Kelling Heath

G and I went for a walk on Kelling Heath this afternoon. We went in the opposite direction to normal as the holiday park is closed until 10th Feb and sometimes the gates are shut to walkers. It was lovely to do a different route, and only really muddy in a few places. I decided on this photo to post from the end of the walk as there was a hint of golden light. Another lot of washing done and dried today after two lots done yesterday - nice to be able to get it dried outside after the cold snap. Don't forget to do the Big Garden Birdwatch this weekend :)

Covid Update
The weekly ONS infection survey of private households up to w/e 17th Jan showed infections are continuing to decrease, with an estimated 1 in 60 with the virus in England (down); 1 in 55 in Scotland (down); 1 in 55 in Wales (down) and 1 in 30 in NI (down). Those in hospital with the virus have fallen 40% since the start of the year. The JCVI has said that people at higher risk of severe Covid should get a booster in the Autumn, and a smaller group of older or immunosuppressed people should get an extra booster in the Spring. If a new variant emerges which is sufficiently different to Omicron, then 'emergency surge vaccine responses' to target more people could be needed.
