Open Mic Night

It's Saturday, and I think we all wanted a lie-in and an unhurried morning. I ended up working - hundreds of invoices have been sent for coding! Eileen did the ironing for us, and G caught up with some admin of her own.

We popped into Wafi for a coffee but ended up at Elements for lunch and a wander around the mall. Jeff and Margaret happened to be there. Margaret is speaking at the Open Mic event that we are attending later.

We picked friend Rita up from the Metro station and got to The Fridge well in time, entering through the back door. I have to record - the car has been making noises for a few days now. It was was particularly worrying today. We've had a lot of racing around and no time to take it to the garage to have it seen to. We pressed on.

My extra records some of the more notable acts that we saw/heard. It was impressive to become aware of the local talent, some of whom write and produce their own songs!

We had dinner with Rita at the Iranian cafeteria next to Union bus station before dropping her off. A full and entertaining day. It was great to see Rita after ages. And I got to give her one of my calendars!
