The second half of life..

By twigs

Winter comes before spring

I have a cold but thankfully, not covid.  Felt rather under the weather today, not helped by being indoors all day.  Took a walk in the evening to stretch the legs, fill the lungs and to have a look at the 'development' that's been happening around my old school.  I was shocked - all but the old block seems to have been demolished to make way for housing.  It looks as though the old block will be developed, possibly as flats.  Such a shame to have lost a wonderful (and no doubt, not so wonderful!) part of so many lives.  When I went there everyone in town between the ages of 14 and 16 went to this school.  Some stayed on until they were 18.  Great memories and so sad to see it all but gone.

This house, surrounded by eerily naked trees, is just down the road.  A little further down the road is the 'extras' shot.....a street shot of the sun going down over early 19th century housing and current 21st century transport which together seem to scream chaos .......but I liked the moodiness the early evening light brings.
