“Thrice and Once the Hedge Pig Whined”

Standing atop a wall to St Mary’s churchyard in Prescot is a hedgehog - or hedge pig.

It is one of fourteen sculptural creatures found in and around Prescot town centre - I have so far come across a dog, cat, lizard, toad, shark and baboon, I will have to find the others.

All feature in the witches chant from William Shakespeare’s play Macbeth.
