One missing!

There are actually four of these black donkeys. They've been on this plot next to the old house for as long as we've been in Ireland - 20 years now. They have a good life; a barn to go in when it's wet and a tray topped up with scraps. They bicker and bite and frolic and roll in the mud. The old house is one of my favourite derelicts  - a typical smallholding with its one acre, in its time considered a big improvement on what came before.
Hard at it continues but I had to nip into Bantry to collect a library book I had ordered (The Colony, Paula)  which has just come in, only to find that it was closed due to it's being St Bridget's long weekend and a public holiday. I bought some tulips instead.
