a lifetime burning

No ruffled feathers here

Mono Monday: smooth

A male tufted duck looks almost black and white, part from its golden eye, until you look closely.  Then you see that just like other black birds, the feathers all have a lovely iridescence that shows as purples, blues and greens in sunlight.  The gentle ripples on the surface of the water were such a strong feature that it was an easy decision to go with a mono treatment for this one.
