Man at work

Chris spent time beginning the long job of pruning our willow hedges. This is the small one around the veg plot; the (much) bigger beast is ready and waiting in the wings with its topping of at least 1½m of whipcord willow wands to be taken down over the next couple of months.

And we had a magnificent sunset tonight as a fitting end to a day of mostly sunshine. It was a shame I just didn't have time to get outside myself - I had a good plan this morning of finishing turning over the little garden and finally getting onto the veg garden. Unfortunately my best laid plans succumbed to journey planning.

Just back from the golf club AGM and have handed the reins of captain on.  I'm a bit sad but mighty glad too!
