Now, as I see it......

Willy Lott's Cottage

An excellent day.  We did a circular walk this morning of about five miles by the banks and across the water meadows of the River Stour to Flatford Mill.  The weather couldn't have been better; cold and misty as we set off but the mist cleared to leave a glorious day.  I took some photos of the mill and of Willy Lott's Cottage which features in the Constable painting 'The Haywain' but to get something approaching the view in the painting the sun was shining directly at the camera.  After walking back to the hotel we had a drive to Lavenham for a look round and then on the way back called at Flatford Mill again to take some more shots with the sun in a different direction.  This is one of the later shots.

The food in the hotel has been excellent so we're now chilling out before going down for dinner again tonight.
