A Day In The Life

On A Roll

Another day of juvenile eagles! • After a late breakfast MrsP needed to go to the Post Office so of course we had to stop at the Boat Landing to see what was flying or swimming about • As soon as we pulled in I saw this eagle on the edge of the ice peering into the open water. Thirsty, yes, but I was curious if he saw his reflection. Soon another juvenile landed on the ice not too far away scanning his head slowly from right to left • The other was much more animated and fun to watch as he kept checking out a stick that was frozen vertically in the ice about 5-6” above the surface. He was obviously captivated by it. After examining it closely, he made many attempts to grab at it with his feet, then he suddenly lifted himself up to stand on it. It took a few awkward tries but he eventually made it, looking quite silly balancing himself on the tip of that little stick :) • I discovered who ate all of the mealworms and suet balls I put out yesterday - Starlings! A huge flock of them. They introduced themselves this afternoon • Fly Like An Eagle, To The Sea…
