From California

Another winter flowering shrub.
This is the Silken Tassel shrub, Garrya elliptica. It comes from Northern California and Southern Oregon where it grows along a coastal strip up to twenty miles inland.

I think I have blipped it before but it is quite unusual and in the absence of other inspiration it can have another go.

I must be getting old and absent minded. I wrongly got it into my head that today was the traditional Pancake Tuesday. As a result I had eaten four of them when Mrs. K. pointed out that it is actually On Tuesday next week.
Ah well, they were very good. But there will not be more next week as we have finished the bottle of Canadian Maple Syrup.
