Caxton Hall

We are ever so grateful to the blippers who are contributing to our blipper-sourced photo album of locations mentioned in Lorna Lloyd's Diary of the war (previously blipped in full in the LornaL journal, and now available as a podcast series). Some have sourced relevant shots from their photo archives. Others - like Colstro, who snapped this shot of the Caxton Hall in London - have been making special trips to photograph locations for us. Thank you Colstro!

Lorna refers to the Caxton Hall in her war diary entry of 13th March 1940 following the assassination there of Sir Michael O’Dwyer, an ex–Commissioner for India. This incident is covered in Episode 4 of the podcast series.

This is the last shot that we currently have lined up to blip in this journal. With our pipeline dry, we call on all friendly blippers to take a look at the list below of the 25 locations that remain to be sourced for this challenge. Do you have a shot or two that could represent any of the places that we have not managed to capture yet?

Perhaps you live nearby one of the places listed? Or perhaps you know somebody else who does, like Tweedy. With the help of her sister, Tweedy contributed this picture of the Lloyd family firm set up by her grandfather in Bristol the 1800sm which is still in business today

Your contributions do not necessarily need to be literally of a place listed: see, for instance, our photographs for the River MarneDakar and Chad

If you have a suitable shot - either of a place(s), or something that could represent it (them) - please send your contribution(s) (not previously blipped) to h.hall@napier.ac.uk to feature alongside the others that we have been blipping here since 13th July 2022
