2nd Anniversary

Dad died two years ago today so we wanted to put some flowers on his grave.   I picked up this hellebore in a little galvanised pot on the way to collect Mum to take her out to lunch.  It was called Ivory Prince which I liked.

I arrived at the house to find her still at church so nipped up there with the flower ready to put it on the grave and then escort her out to lunch but she gave me the slip out of the back door of the church and went home.  I’ll never make a spy.

I hoped that the snowdrops I planted in the green on the grave last year would be showing but sadly only one flower was on view! I might try again.

Lunch with J and S at the Thomas Lord in West Meon.  The village was packed and I had to park up by the church.  It’s a Mecca for cycling, walking and the pub and it was a glorious spring-like day so people were out in force.  Mum enjoyed the drive exclaiming at every cloud of catkins and pool of snowdrops that shone in the sun.

I had to scram to pick up V from Heathrow going via letting the dog out for a bit.  His plane was on time and I managed to negotiate the unbelievable confusing lanes round T2 and T3 to pick him up in almost one smooth move.

Did some work when I got home and then had supper.  I was hoping to watch the BAFTAs but for some reason they didn’t drop onto iPlayer until quite late so i just read the papers and had a relatively early night.
