Marjorie's ramblings

Wild card evening

At our photo group, we often have evenings where we show our own work to each other. Tonight's subject was "Wild Card" (colour) and seven members showed panels of their work.

As usual there was a wide variation in the subjects chosen.

Lesley C had made these images. She had photographed individual examples of Roman glass (from Corbridge and the British Museum). She made individual images or each one, then arranged them in groups, blending and overlapping them.

I have no idea how long she must have worked on this. Her original degree in Art always shows in her work; she has a wonderful eye.

The other Lesley and John both did nature panels. Margaret's were from Trooping the Colour a few years ago. Leo's were from Cadiz cathedral (a photographer's dream) and Geoff had made a panel from one piece of artwork he saw in Cornwall, changing the shapes into geometric patterns.

Another really good evening for our group.

This morning I called in to see the other Marjorie who is in terrible pain and has no diagnosis yet, then to see Kate (and Jenny and Dennis) to help celebrate her birthday today.

This afternoon I slept for an hour. I hope I catch up with myself soon!
