South Coast Scribblings

25th Birthday

Our son reached his quarter-century today! I think he's enjoyed his birthday, despite having to go to church twice to run the song projection - he doesn't normally do this in the evening worship, but we have a joint service for Pentecost with the local Anglican church tonight. I haven't gone tonight as we have a friend round for the day who isn't well enough to go to two services. Also having to stand around for too long talking to people after the service is not the best thing for my poorly leg. It's usually a well-attended service and they return the compliment by having a joint service at their church for Advent. I love going there for that because it's a really old atmospheric church. Ours is a modern 'box', but we do decorate it beautifully for Christmas!

We had a big football tournament in the village today - it was absolute chaos along our road and the road to the church. It looked very well-supported and the local club is very well run nowadays. There is no village car park, so all the cars have to park along the roads. We have a small car park at church.

It seems very mild today. We have had some rain and some sunshine. Tomorrow sounds as though it's going to be awful - really rainy. Still, lots needs doing at home but, once again, the geraniums probably won't get planted!
