GOODBYE FEBRUARY 2023

For a variety of reasons, I am not fond of
PURPLE LEAF PLUM TREES; except, at this time of the year, when they bloom. My trees are full of these TINY pink flowers, just as the leaves start to emerge.

Last fall I saw the crows mobbing the Cooper’s Hawks nesting tree, so I thought
our nesting pair might abandon it. Last evening I heard the familiar screech of a chick & saw it on a favorite branch in the tall pine tree behind my house. I always wonder how they survive the lashing rain & hail of last week.

Today felt like a Spring day- -chilly, but fresh & sunny. More rain tonight, but the skies should be wrung dry by morning. The dreaded wind will return like a cold slap.
