Wine Tasting at Merry Edwards

All three children, one spouse, two grandchildren and John an I  all gathered around the table for a wine tasting and a fairly definitive lesson complete with maps and a chart in the front of the room. The teachers in the group all commented on the fact that it looked like a lesson. Our host and wine guide took the picture.

Merry Edwards was friends with Alice Waters and David Goines who designed lots of Chez Panisse posters as well as the Merry Edwards labels.  I've put a picture of two of them in the extras. They were definitely of our era and it was fun to immerse ourselves in the past a bit.
Thanks to Jim for organizing it.

As we were leaving merry Edwards, the younger contingent decided to go to Russian River Brewing Company to have a beer. John, being of the beer persuasion joined them. I came home with Dana and Jim  and am getting caught up here until they return. All bases covered, it remains to be seen what we decide to do tomorrow.

We are now due to go to dinner at Jim and Dana's, so thanks go to them for organizing that as well. I could get used to being the elder states- people and letting the next generation or two take care of us. Pressure is being put on us to join the others for pre dinner cheese and (more) wine.
