Holyfield Geese

I walked at Holyfield Farm after lunch. This pair of geese flew over. One is a greylag and the other a hybrid.

The farmer was cultivating followed by a huge flock of gulls. The male stonechat which I captured last week was making the most of bugs in the disturbed soil.

The old giant puffball fungus the size of a football in extras is one of two outside Longlands Hide. I'm surprised that I haven't noticed them before.

PS It was unusually quiet here today. There has always been a flock/chattering of around 700 jackdaws around the farm buildings. Only a handful today. I wonder what has happened to them? I look back on my blips from previous years each morning and I featured them on this day in 2022.
