There is no escaping the devastating effect caused by the earthquakes of 2010 and 2011 on Christchurch. There is no getting away from the resilience of her people either.

It takes time to recover and rebuild but what has been done so far has created a truly vibrant and modern city centre. Gaping holes still exist showing the scars of buildings and lives lost. There does appear to be a vision to build better, embracing new technologies, design and needs of her people.

Two collages today the main being the Transitional Cathedral constructed from cardboard. It is not a temporary building. It is on a site of a previous church and when the original cathedral is restored it will convert to being a parish church.

The extra shows the old cathedral undergoing repairs. It will take many more years.
