Just a thought?

Aimed @ you "young 'uns".  i.e. anybody less than 52 yrs old on St. Valentine's day.
1. History Lesson. (I needed to alter the "ages" it was ≈ 10 yr out of date.)

On 14 February that year, there were 12 pennies to the shilling and 20 shillings to the pound. The following day all that was history and the pound was made up of 100 new pence.
Decimalisation - having a currency based on simple multiples of 10 and 100 - had been a long time coming to Britain."
2. Anybody that age, or younger has only ever had one Monarch and only one head on their coins.
3.  Set against that, though I can't remember him, I'm into my 3rd Monarch now, Mam saw four, and her Mam saw, but wouldn't know it,  :¬(   6.01. 
I suppose Mam saw 5.01 , counting "The uncrowned King" Edward the Vll.
The above are all Pennies, dating from "real" money referred to as Lsd, from the way they were denoted - £sd. 

Back in the mists of history, when I worked @ U. K. A. E. A. Sellafield "we" collected Coins.  
The aim?  
One coin of each denomination for each year.  In reality NOT possible some years none were minted, and in 1933 only six Pennies were minted.

BUT 

Right up until February 1971, all the above Pennies were in circulation and collected by yours truly for his collection.


IF you're at all interested theres a fairly palatable shortie history here. Even mention of our first attempt at decimalisation in the 1800s.

Comical aside - twice now we might have had a "King Arthur".

Slow on the uptake, or WOT?  I've just noticed Geo V & Geo Vl are facing the same way, despite the fact that Ed Vlll was never crowned. 

NO!  Not even that accounts for it. (:¬o)
