Badger and Mackerel

No, not the names of these two Blippers, but that of the café in which we enjoyed lunch today.

Mrsmacdub and Mrmacdub have been in town this week, soaking up much that Oamaru has to offer. I grabbed the opportunity to catch up with them before they disappeared off into the north again.

We had a lovely walk after lunch up on Cape Wanbrow, where Bean completely failed to chase a couple of rabbits. She was looking in every direction except that in which the bunnies had hopped away. She’s a useless hunter, but was still ridiculously pleased with herself.

The ocean was an extraordinary colour: a bright light turquoise close to the coast and then dark blue further out, with a sharp line between the two. I have no idea what created it. See the extra…
