Friday Frolic

This is the view from my desk in the conservatory. Today it was particularly cold in there, and if you look carefully there was a fair bit of the white stuff falling.

In my previous team (the one where I was assistant team leader until just before Christmas) we met each Friday for a half hour break away from work. Our colleagues in other teams we haven't really seen much of. So in view of the many changes going on in the structure of the teams, it was proposed that we open up our weekly frolic to the rest of the department. Lucy was proactive in getting today's gathering off the ground and it was lovely to be joined by a few colleagues. With our team depleted through ill health at the moment, we needed more and what better than new faces. We had a laugh together for 30 minutes then got back to work.

Work was the same as it has been all week. Overwhelming at times. I didn't get a pension finished that needed to be done manually because my hands were too cold to write. I just ran out of time and brain power in the end, and finished after 5.30 to collect Mollie from the bus.

We went to Morrisons for comfort food. A mistake when you are hungry, but I did get a bargain white cob for 18p. Not had one of those orange ticket bargains for ages.

Mollie made pizzas and we have indulged in all the fattening rubbish we bought...plus gin and beer - but not mixed!
