Four Seasons In One Day

It’s been a very British day from the point of view of the weather. It started off reasonably bright but then started snowing. Weirdly, nothing was sticking, even though it was coming down at a great rate of knots. Then it stopped as quickly as it started. A slight pause and then the rain arrived. After the rain stopped I was struck by how the drops caught in the Acer looked, so went out to try and get a photo. At which point, the snow returned, so I ended up with a picture of the drops with the snow falling at the same time!
Again, the snow didn’t stick and by the time we got back from the gym later in the afternoon, we were basking in sunshine! Unfortunately, that didn’t last very long and the next thing to arrive was a hailstorm, which managed to turn everything white before it turned into snow. At which point the roads cleared again and half an hour later the blue skies were back.
We have had these conditions before, but what was strange about today was that none of it was forecast! Whatever app I looked at, there were only warnings of drizzle now and again. Even at the height of the snowstorm, BBC Weather was still insisting it was only a light drizzle!
One thing for our weather though - it does give us all something to talk about!
