Mis-communication

This is a late blip … again!

The draft Sale and Purchase Agreement for the property we wish to buy in Oamaru was sent to our solicitor for his approval on Monday, and we received an email from him setting out his comments and amendments.  We assumed it had also been sent to the real estate agent to make the necessary amendments and prepare the final document.  So, we waited and we waited and we waited, and nothing happened.  We were rather surprised by this as our solicitor is usually very quick and on the ball. Eventually, after a couple of phone calls, we realised that we needed to forward our solicitors email to the real estate agent, but our solicitors assistant hadn’t mention it in the email.  The final document eventually arrived, was printed, signed and returned.  Unfortunately, the printed copy at the other end isn’t quite legible enough for solicitors to approve, so tomorrow (Wednesday) the agent will take the original to the vendors, he will then have it sent to my son-in-law in Auckland, it will be printed out on their office printer, we will re-sign it and it will be scanned on their big office scanner and emailed back to Oamaru.  Phew, such a palaver!

We went to a funeral today for the sister of a walking group friend of ours.  I found it extremely emotional as it’s not all that long since Mum’s funeral and the emotion probably contributed to the extreme tiredness I felt tonight after we returned from Auckland Joggers.  I also went to my Pilates class, which was excellent. We had a very good walk and we all stayed for dinner after.  Our little group (there were only seven of us tonight) always stay for dinner and cake when it’s someone’s birthday in the same week.  MrMacD’s birthday is on Friday (yes, St Patrick’s Day), so we needed to provide the cake.  Unfortunately, with a funeral, Pilates and a lot of pfaffing around with the S&P Agreement, there wasn’t time to make a cake, so down to St Heliers we went and purchased ten beautiful little orange and almond friands.  They were delicious and much appreciated.

Apologies, but I am still way behind dipping into journals. It’s rather frenetic at the moment.
