Lady F and HL go to the Beach

There is one beach on the entire Sonoma coastline where dogs are welcome to play in the surf without being on a lead. Since water is Ozzie's element, and it is quite hot in Santa Rosa, we decided to go to Dillon Beach.

I like the drive--longer now that we have moved away from the farmhouse--through city, town and dairy farmland. Coincidentally we passed over a a similar route to the one that we watched the peloton of the Tour of California take yesterday.

Although it was already 70 degrees when we left Santa Rosa, it was rather brisk at the beach. We all enjoyed the walk along the shore, watching the dogs and the people and the surf. Lady F photographed the giant kelp that had washed up on the beach, OilMan and HL threw sticks into the surf for Ozzie and I photographed them. Lady F mentioned that this was the first time she could remember wetting her feet in the Pacific Ocean....

There is something about the beach that puts everyone in a good mood. Today was no exception, and lunch at a seafood restaurant down the coast rounded out the expedition nicely. When we got home it was 85 degrees and definitely NOT chilly....
