Vineyard Flowers

I just erased my entry as I tried to get the extra to print right side up... a picture from Dana of the iconic Andean peak, Mt. Fitz Roy or Cerro Chaltén in Patagonia. I have succeeded in doing that but the following will be but a brief synopsis of my brilliantly written lost entry.

The main picture is a bit of a stretch for flower Friday, but the new flower which is appearing here in the Kunde vineyards and in many other Sonoma Valley vineyards as a cover crop is particularly pretty. Here at least, it seems to be replacing both poppies and mustard, and is blanketing the ground in many other places as well. A bit of research will be necessary to determine if it has a name. Down the road a flock of sheep was busy keeping down the weeds in another vineyard.

We decided to take advantage of the lovely weather this morning to go to Sonoma to look at possible anniversary rings for a big one coming up in June. There were dogs and mums with strollers and tourists in the historic square and people coming out of an Irish pub decked out in cartoonish green hats and all other manner of green garb. For all I know they were drinking green beer though I can't imagine any self respecting Guiness drinking Irishman tolerating such a thing.

We might have one more good day before the rain comes back....Hopefully not for long as we do seem to be creeping toward spring.
