I Capture the Castle

Prayer walked into town, as usual on a Wednesday morning.

As I walk past the castle, I always pray for it to be restored (it was badly damaged by Spanish cannon fire and is slowly deteriorating), and Mourão along with it. Can see definite improvements in the town since we moved here over six years ago - more and more decrepit houses being bought and restored. And Luís, our architect, has shown a great project for the castle, where the oldest part would become a Dark Sky observatory, forming a triangle with the two on the other side of the Lake.

Dan and Mireille, instead of joining us for the prayer walk, came for dinner tonight, along with Ermelinda and Cecílio. I roasted almost the last of the lamb that was raised on our Land, as Rodrigo is talking about giving us another one for Easter.

Gratefuls:
- this beautiful place; we woke to mistiness, dissolving into bright sunshine, and so many wild flowers, and the castle and the Lake and gorgeous blue sky
- Mike tidying up outside and me inside
- a good time over dinner, in spite of the language barrier, and the lamb was pretty tasty; I'd marinated it in wine, rosemary and garlic for a couple of days
