Between fen and mountains

Tinkling bell

One of the sounds of the mountains that I love is the tinkling of the cow bells. I wonder if the cows like them; they don't seem to mind but I don't think I would like a bell hanging around my neck all day. I think it would be quite irritating! I made bread in the morning and played tennis in the afternoon. I then had to deal with an estimate to clear some rubbish from the church crypt. It is a bone of contention as some of the rubble is our responsibility after a few parishioners took on a small project without permission from the Mairie but some of the rubbish belongs to the Mairie. The estimate of £4000 euros is laughable. The gift of a redundant heat exchange unit was a poisoned chalice as it requires specialist and potentially expensive disposal. I think we now have to find two lads with a trailer who will help us out without charging too much!
