River meander, Lanthwaite Woods

After the last few days paddling through bogs, we thought it time for a quiet day, with a short stroll - so we parked at Lanthwaite woods and walked to the edge of the lake. The meander in the river was flowing fast and in some danger of flooding and cutting off the meander. I paddled as far as I could to get this panorama (on Deb's Phone)

The walkway past the weir was flooded and impassable, winds were really high, though no water spouts, and a lady was bravely swimming (no wet suit)! We did however manage to walk down to the boathouse and round in a circular route up onto Brackenthwaite Hows for a great view down the lake, though it was nearly impossible to stand up in the wind!

Can't wait for proper Spring.
