Blackthorn and Raindrops

Enjoyed yesterday's sunshine, particularly in the knowledge that it's all change today. I knew that the blackthorn blossom would be looking good by the river and so it is. Even in the rain.

A lovely time last night. Three of us are not seeking re-election to the Community Council at the ballot next month. Last night we met for a social get together which was delightful. Some food, some fizz, a parting gift which is just the job and a poem written by the chair. I might even share that on blip in due course.

We now have a new First Minister. The self styled 'continuity candidate'. He has a big job to do and didn't win by a huge margin. Whatever is ahead, or whatever you think of him as an effective politician, it is  good to see  the young, Muslim grandson of an  immigrant family in the role. What he makes of it will be more than interesting to watch. As I say, he has a big job to do. Watch this space/country.
