Weary

We found the driving very tiring - it's quite different to Oz, where there are long straight roads, and little traffic.  And not much in the way of rain.  That's all behind us now and we'll be leaving the country of my birth very soon.  Ecstatic to report that the car was delivered back to the hiring company without a scratch on it, after driving just over 900 miles on roads of varying qualities.

On another matter entirely - has anyone read the Ballad of Reading Gaol?  Be honest now - have you read every single line?  It's very long and not for the faint of heart.  Reading Gaol (wherein Oscar Wilde was incarcerated) was built on the site of a very ancient Abbey.  This hospitium was where weary travellers could rest and enjoy the hospitality of the monks.

We liked Reading.
