"Please just raise your hand like this."

We went over to the old part of the city by the eastern hills today. That's where you find lots of the temple/shrines, streets full of visitors, and shops full of crafts. A few also have traditional clothing that you can rent for the day for parading around and getting your picture taken in. Some people even had photographers out with them, telling them how to pose in suitable ways with the last of the sakura (cherry blossom). Fascinating!

We had a snack lunch of croquettes and various things on sticks, then some locally roasted and ground coffee from a sweet little place that also did glorious waffles. They have matcha-flavoured everything here but I've had a lot of that already.

And last of all, H got a treat for putting up with all the old stuff (in the extra).

Glad to be back at our quiet guest house for a soak in the tub, only after showering off of course, this evening.
