Dreich

We have been so lucky with the weather and knew that today was going to be damp (soaking would be a better word!!) so had planned a games day. After a lazy breakfast we got stuck into one of the board games (wingspan) that we had brought with us. I think I lost but enjoyed it. We then set off to Stromness to take a wander down the High Street and go to the exhibition in the famous Pier Gallery. We had a wonderful time there and loved the local print display as well as the pictures from the permanent collection which are mostly from the St Ives group. They were given to Orkney by Margaret Gardiner ..fab! We had decided to go for a beach walk afterwards but the rain didn’t let up so we headed home for snacks and more games. The rain stopped but not till we had sunk a gin each so no walk today. Tomorrow is set fair for our last day… one more booked trip to look forward to…
