Soaking it up

A very early start after a late night (pesky coffee again!) but we quickly got ready and stripped the beds then set off in the barely light dawn to walk down to the station. Very straightforward trip to the airport and after a cheeky farewell bratwurst and a bit of a wait to board we took off on time. I promptly lay down on the tray table and fell asleep and Laura seemed to as well…despite sitting perfectly upright and still the whole time!
We split up once we were through passport control and I jumped on a tram whilst Laura went for her bus, and I was soon in town and walking up the hill to home. Felt boiling hot…gorgeous sunshine and much warmer than when we left Berlin. When I got in, lovely to see how tidy they’d left it, and full of flowers which was lovely. Had a welcome cup of tea (the first one back home is always a treat!) then got the laundry started and did my hair.
Was thinking of going to sit in the sun in the Meadows but decided to go to A’s instead to see her. Once I arrived I sat in her big chair in the sun with the bifold doors open and soaked up the sun and chatted to her about her Master’s application, long term plans, gardens, Paisley, Berlin etc etc. Lovely to catch up and just relax in such warm sunshine…what a treat.
We wandered down to the village pub for dinner (fish and chips)…the place was heaving and noisy with a big birthday group in and lots of loud celebrating but quite fun and tasty food.
Home and caught up on some TV with the fire lit and relaxing on the sofa. Only 5 miles walked today!
