It has been estimated that Oman has a 50% higher rate of genetic birth disorders than in industrialised countries, but seldom is that fact presented alongside Oman's general tendency towards consanguineous marriages. It is very common here for cousins to marry each other (and I'm not talking twice-removed from your mother's uncle's sister-in-law's niece kind of cousin, but your actual cousin) and we all know what happens if you have a baby with your cousin.

The fact that there are lots of babies born with genetic disorders coupled with the fact that you seldom see any disabled people has always seemed a little odd to me. Nevertheless, our college is well equipped with lifts, ramps and parking spaces, one of which was occupied by this flashy looking beast.

I wouldn't like to speculate whether or not the owner of this vehicle is actually disabled, but the lack of a disabled permit badge attached to it would suggest not and that this vehicle is in fact owned by a big twat.
