Spring beauty

Saturday
Having come down from still somewhat wintry central Wisconsin, Laura was longing to see some Spring blooms. I’m sure the Zoo would have been a picture as I think all their tulips are out, but being Easter Saturday I’m sure it would have been very crowded, and also the temperatures are still on the cool side, so I expect some of the animals would still be inside. So instead, we drove up to a couple of gardens in the Dayton area, which we have enjoyed in the Spring before - Cox Arboretum and Wegerzyn gardens. Unfortunately, the sun was struggling to break through the cloud, so the colours weren’t as vibrant as they might have been, but they were both still beautiful. We were also disappointed to find that the field of tulips we had seen at Cox arboretum on a previous occasion wasn’t there this year. However, it was still a good outing, and we stopped for some ice cream from UDF (United Dairy Farmers) on the way back. When we got back, we had a cup of tea, then played a board game, before going our separate ways in the evening, Laura out to eat with a friend, and Roger and I going out to eat on our own.
